Marko Mondays: Best Point Guard In The NBA?

There are many great point guards in the NBA, from Steve Nash, Deron Williams, Chris Paul, Jason Kidd, and etc. People will make cases with certain point guards, but in my opinion it isn’t close and the winner is CP3 (Chris Paul). My reason why:

Leadership: Yes, the addition of James Posey was big, but Chris makes this team’s overall identity. He’s showing already that he has the ability to contend and probably win the west. He’s got a lot of ability and leadership, and within just one year of being knocked against the San Antonio Spurs, you can see the maturity in his game and overall dependency on carrying this team night in and night out no matter what it takes. Chris Paul has the best TO ratio of any high volume PG EVER. That's his secret to his efficiency. In order to understand efficiency, you have to understand how big of a deal the difference is in a stat line that reads. He's the greatest open court PG I have EVER seen in my life. Even marginal transition plays turn to baskets with him leading the break. That includes guys like Kidd, Isaiah, etc. Only Magic is perhaps better, but I’m telling you, I’m not exaggerating when I say this. You have to watch the man run a break even when it’s not a total break. The man defends, defends with skill, and scores from all over. Passes from every angle, runs a break, but knows how to dominate in a half-court set. Paul is a fantastic young point guard, who some say will eventually be one of the best ever (I agree). His stats also show it. He is right up where Magic, Stockton, and Isaiah were at this point in their careers. As I’ve said, Chris Paul is for real; he led the New Orleans Hornets from no playoffs the year before to the 2 spot in the highly competitive West.

There are always debates on who is better, Chris Paul or Deron Williams. There is no doubt in my mind that Deron is a superstar too, but Chris Paul is better than Deron. I hear people always say what happens to CP3 when they face the Utah Jazz, and y’all are correct Chris Paul has played his worst basketball against Deron Williams. But if you look it up, D Wills hasn't played too well against Chris Paul either. At the end of the day, I'll take the guy that destroys 28 NBA teams over the guy who destroys the guy who destroys the other 28. Every player has his nemesis; CP's just happens to be the guy he's compared with all the time.
