Marko Mondays: My Favourite Soccer Team
For this week I decided to do a piece of my favourite soccer team, Red Star Belgrade. Situated in Belgrade known as FK Crvena Zvezda (Football Club Red Star Belgrade) is the only Serbian club to have won a UEFA competition, being victorious in 1991. Red Star’s home ground the Stadium Crvena Zvezda holds a capacity of 55,000. The stadium is commonly referred to Marakana after the famous Brazilian stadium Maracana.
Supporters of Red Star are known as Delije (The Heroes) regarded as one of the most dangerous hooligans in the world, they are generally concentrated in the North Stand of the Stadium Crvena Zvezda. Red Star’s main rivals are fellow Belgrade club, FK Partizan (Football Club Partizan) Matches between the two clubs are known as the "Eternal Derby". In league matches, the derby has been played 133 times; Red Star winning on 57 occasions and Partizan 34 times. Red Star has two friendship clubs, Olympiacos of Greece and Spartak Moscow of Russia. The fans of the three teams have been dubbed "Orthodox Brothers." You wanna see what a real soccer match is, you come watch these two play. Y’all will be scared shitless.
Here are some pictures and videos (some of which I took).
