Late Marko Mondays. LOL: Who Do You Think Will Break Out In 08-09?

At the end of each NBA season, they have an award given to a player who has had a breakout season or as they call it the "NBA Most Improved Player" award. Here, I will be giving my opinion on players who could have a breakout year in 2008-2009.

Andray Blatche - He's got so much potential, it's not even funny. He's extremely fluid as a 6'11" PF/C, with a good jumper (around 18 feet), solid rebounding, and amazing shot blocking. Now that Haywood is going to miss a few months, expect him to get a lot more playing time.

Mickael Pietrus - He's finally in a system that doesn't require him to play as a 6'6" PF. Air France had a lot of expectations during his days in Golden State, but in Orlando, he can focus on his strengths, now that he plans to be the starting SG. With a good shooter in Nelson, Pietrus can focus on perimeter defence and posting up on smaller guards, two of his strengths.

Julian Wright - I loved what I saw from him during the playoffs. He doesn't have much of an offensive game, in terms of shooting, but I think that he can really shine if he gets a role somewhat like Thad Young's in Philadelphia.

Hakim Warrick - First of all, let me say that Warrick is a mediocre defender. However, he can score efficiently, and this season he should get playing time.

Andrea Bargnani - He was god awful last year, but some of that was because he needed surgery, and he got that taken care of this summer. Also from what I've seen, and heard through the media he's transformed his game quite a bit to more post/mid range game. He has natural talent so I could see him moving in the right direction this year and start putting it together.

We will see...

-Marko
